Argentinian wines
D.O.C. = In 1991 the Lujan de Cuyo province/ Malbec, situated in the Mendoza region, a wine quality classification, based on the european regulations, was introduced. Only in September 1999, within the international regulations concerning wine production, the directives for wine classification were introduced. Wines are classified into table wines Indicacione de Procedencia, quality wines Indicacione Geografica ( geographical origin of the wine must be indicated) and D.O.C. designation, which is the highest one in the quality wine hierarchy of Argentinian wines. They have been gradually introducing all these norms into the quality wine classification since 2000.
